Yarmouth: Printed by C. Sloman. 1819.

First (and seemingly only) edition. 4to. 263x167mm. pp. [2], ii, [8, list of subscribers], iii-xviii, [2], 258, [1 leaf, instructions to the binder]. The list of subscribers has been bound between the dedicatory letter and the introduction, hence the break in pagination, but the whole collates complete. Frontispiece is a folding map of Yarmouth and there are nineteen other engraved illustrated plates and a folding table of benefactors. All the plates are present. Quarter vellum, original boards, bumping to corners and rubbing to edges, staining and marking to lower cover. Splitting to head of spine at the joints. Red morocco label, lettered in gilt. Some foxing and browning to the text block but overall a nice copy with the engraved plates in particularly good condition. Front pastedown has the inscription: Fellows, Westbourne Lodge, Southtown and the head of the contents page is inscribed, "Jn. Parson": a "Parsons - Esq." is listed among the subscribers. A rare book published in Yarmouth about that town which was, at the time this "Picture" was published, basking in the glory of its role as one of the most important English naval centres during the French Revolutionary and Napoleonic Wars.
There are six copies recorded on Worldcat, (BL, V&A, Cambridge, Harvard, Yale, Columbia).
