Twelve page introductory essay by Ian Jeffrey, text in German and English. Twenty black and white photographs. "DL07" refers to Tirana, in Albania (it is a US map reference) which Liebchen visited during a period of peace. His photographs, however, use all the visual grammar and vocabulary of classic war photography to give the impression of a city at war. His purpose is to show that war photography has its own conventions which can exist separately from the veracity of the subject matter. The question thus arises: is war photography a work of journalistic realism or a work of art? Jeffery's essay suggests that we should see DL07 "as a kind of Arte Povera".
