First Edition of Le Corbusier’s demand for investment in housing rather than armaments, published to coincide with his ‘Pavilion des temps Nouveaux’ at the 1937 Paris World Fair. The plans for this structure passed through many vicissitudes before finally stabilising on the idea of a canvas tube, designed for fast assembly and dismantling (largely by Le Corbusier’s cousin and colleague Pierre Jeanneret)
containing a programme of exhibits prepared by Le Corbusier himself. This programme, in situ, is illustrated in the present volume, along with explanatory text.
