Special Winter Number of The Studio for 1921. pp. viii, followed by 24 mounted colour plates unpaginated. Black cloth with title on upper cover in gilt in a double border. Cream dust jacket with title printed in black to upper cover and on spine. Some tears to the extremities of the dust jacket. The contents are in superb condition. There is a short prefatory note which explains that the "object of this volume is to placebefore our readers reproductions, as like as possible to the originals, of carefully selected examples of the work of some of the foremost living artists in water-colour". The plates, mounted on card, are of a very high standard and include work by Brangwyn, Clausen, Sargent and Russell Flint. The front pastedown has a label for A Louis de Meuleneere, 21, Rue du Chene, Bruxelles. This firm was a great Brussels booksellers and the predecessor to Tulkens from where this book was bought when it closed in 2008.
