1764. An engraved and hand-coloured road map of Norfolk originally produced for Britannia Depicta or Ogilby Improve'd, Being a Correct Coppy of Mr Ogilby's Actual Survey of all ye Direct and Principal Cross Roads in England and Wales. This is essentially a road book based on John Ogilby's 1675 Britannia. Depicta was illustrated by small county maps engraved for the book by Emanuel Bowen. The descriptive details were compiled by John Owen, a lawyer. The first edition of Britannia Depicta was in 1720 and this is the 1764 which is essentially the same but corrects some spelling, not least King's Lynn for King's Lyn. Mounted on white card but unframed (image: 190x123mm)
