Twenty four coloured cards illustrating characters from nine of Dickens's novels: Barnaby Rudge, Dombey and Son, David Copperfield, Little Dorrit, Oliver Twist, The Pickwick Papers, Nicholas Nickleby, Martin Chuzzlewit, and Bleak House. The cards measure 164x105mm and the images 100x65mm. Housed in a red cloth covered case with the front cover lavishly decorated and lettered. The case has the binder's ticket of Wilh. Schäffel of Leipzig. Some light foxing to a few of the cards and heavier in one instance but overall they are in very good condition and capture well the characters of the individuals. An amusing set.
